London Fashion Week AW15 BlinkLondon

Full post here

Cats Brothers, who we met at the LFW Somerset House Designer Showrooms. This label one we just had to check out because 1) the name appeals to my inner crazy cat lady and 2) just look at the colour and texture! This young label, launched in 2012 and stocked in Browns Focus, features knits, sweats and accessories- each item pretty much serving as a vehicle for some gorgeous surface treatment, pattern and texture.

Cats Brothers pom pom coat, AW15

The AW’15 collection seemed to be a study in all the craft techniques I learnt, and loved, at primary school. From Cats Brothers signature pom-poms to macrame (newly hot again!) and cross stitch effects. When I mentioned this to Lindsay, she told me that this collection had indeed been inspired by a collection of 70’s craft books called Greystone’s ‘Creative Hands’. Well, as someone who was actually there in the 70’s being subjected to all of these skills, I can attest to the authenticity! I’m now feeling inspired to break out my macrame skills and knock up a plant holder or two!

Thanks for the time you gave us Lindsay and good luck in Paris.
